TNA Live: This Saturday!

I thought I would do something a little “cool” and “creative” this weekend. I’m heading out to Florence, South Carolina to see my FOURTH TNA show and will be sitting FRONT ROW! So, what I’m going to do is a little “on the road” type thing – I’m going to take my digital camera and film a few things on the way there (ala – riding down the interstate) and then when I get to the hotel I’m going to edit it all together and have a “TNA Fan Nation: The Road Trip” video. I’m hoping to get 3-4 parts out of my whole little trip. Also, Friday on the way down there I’m going to be on my laptop typing up my “rundown” of iMPACT from 7/24/08. So, most likley the next time you see a blog from me I’ll be sitting in Florence, South Carolina waiting to see some Total Non-Stop Action!

My Opinion on The hate

Now, A LOT of people think that TNA’s the worst wrestling promotion ever these days. I don’t mind that – we don’t like the same thing. Fine. But, here’s where it gets a little deep (and I don’t mean deep in water). I’ve seen and heard people complain about storylines, wrestling, stupid gimmicks, to much comedy and the list goes on and on. Here’s my “reply” to you.

Comedy: When are you guys going to reliaze you can’t have the same “I hate you so much for ______” for every feud nor can you have the same “You cost me _____ so I will cost you ____” feud so you NEED comedy in wrestling. Now, has TNA used it to much? Yes. But, they’ve cut back alot on it. They’ve got (in my opinion) three “comedy gimmicks” Eric Young/Super Eric, Curry Man and Shark Boy. Care you explain to me how these guys could be used WITHOUT comedy? Exactly. You can’t. Unless you plan to have someone eat the “curry” off Curry Man’s mask  and have them beat him up because it “burned their tounge” (which in the long run would be comedy)

Stupid Storylines: Now, the main one(s) I hear about first is Eric Young vs. Robert Roode (2007). I’m still trying to figure out this is a stupid storyline especially seeing as it was REALISTIC. If you think this is a “stupid” storyline then what’s a smart storyline? This was a story about a guy trying to get fans “support” (Robert Roode) so he gets someone (Traci Brooks) to “black mail” the man the crowd LOVES (Eric Young) into signing a contract with “Robert Roode Inc.” Then it boiled into a “You can’t do anything about this Eric because I OWN you” – How is that stupid? It’s a story(line) that happens in the world. Are you trying to tell me that it’s “stupid” to have a realistic storyline? I think NOT. The same thing goes for Karen Angle, Kurt Angle and AJ Styles’ current storyline - REALISTIC.

Stupid Gimmicks – If you think TNA has stupid gimmicks know go back to the year 2002 and remember these three words: The Rainbow Express. ‘Nuff said.

The main thing is – just sit back, relax and ENJOY THE SHOW.
